A round neckline midi dress with a front placket, featuring gathered detailing at the waist seam, intricate applique accents and tucks on the hem, and puff sleeves. Crafted from a multicolor border and placement handblock-printed cotton-silk blend fabric, the dress includes a separate lining for added comfort.

Motifs inspired by the diverse floral elements of AMER were first translated into hand-drawn watercolor paintings. These designs were then meticulously adapted into hand-carved blocks, carefully considering the limitations of the medium. The play with negative-positive space, color separation, and outlining led to both singular motifs and intricate, multi-layered repeats. As many as 80 small and large wooden blocks were used to create pattern repeats for a single garment.
